Order and checkin ticklers October 4, 2006

With Release 2006, we now have the capability to insert ticklers into our order and checkin records.  After a few false starts with the III setup, all now seems to be working.

These ticklers are just time sensitive alerts, sent to recipients via email when the timer goes off.  At the point of setting up the tickler, you key in a message or note, so that when the tickler arrives in a mailbox at that future date, the recipient knows why it has arrived.

It has to be kept in mind that the tickler is a time-sensitive device.  So, for sake of argument, you might set up a group of order record ticklers with a date of April 30, 2007, with the intention that if these particular orders have not arrived by that date, that they should be cancelled. 

Functionally, these will be useful in the context of ERM.  However, they will also have general utility as well.
