3rd iteration of specs and sample records December 12, 2007

By jove, I think we’ve got it! Well, ok, the last sample set sent by Serials Solutions had a new variation, but like a member of the borg collective, I’m adapting quickly to each new iteration. Instead of asking them to do another fix, I changed the load table profile and voila! I re-mapped the wrong tag to the proper one.

Ok, I modified the table because I could do so without losing any more time. It’s hard to get SerSol to do any changes done between the 6th and the 15th of the month since they are generating files for everyone then. So rather than wait until next week — ack!! — I modified the table instead so that we could push on.

Once that was done, we were able to load a test sample, but alas! the ALTLOOKUP field was not working as expected. Sheesh. So now we are waiting on III’s reply to see what needs doing at this stage.

Why do I get the distinct sense that we’ve gone from inching, to crawling? and is that a good, or a bad thing?

Actually, I think it is a good thing. 🙂
